Night At The Races – February 17, 2018 – Saturday – 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm

We dressed up in our derby attire and brought our favorite date! Held at Doc’s Grill in the Summerfield Crossings Golf Club in Riverview, “Night At The Races” was a fantastic derby-style party! Guests were dressed for the occasion and there were hats galore! There were lots and lots of raffle prizes (almost 30!) and our last race had a cash winner! Blackjack was played with funny money and each of the 10 races took bets with funny money. The horse names were interesting. Here are a few: Positively Graceful, McLovin, Alreadylost, Passing Wind, Thor, Close to Me, Wirthit, Owchee Wowah, Show Me The Money, Four Legged Freak, Greased Lightning, Hurricane, Kickin Kirkland, Whip it Good, Fifty Shades of Hay, Over Easy Baby and Need to Retire. There were many others we can’t list here because they were more than colorful…

We had a Best Dressed and a Best Hat contest. Best Dressed went to the Kirklands and Best Hat went to Julie Dahl.

All proceeds go to our scholarship fund for Riverview area (and our member’s children’s in any area) high school Students. The Riverview Woman’s Club Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
